Kiln- dried floors are made from ceramic tiles cooked and dried in a kiln. Such as click bamboo flooring – Floors made in this way are much more durable than wooden ones; they are invulnerable to damage by water, and they do not crack when walked on. The tiles may be glazed and subsequently painted with colorful, expressive designs.

The moisture content of kiln- dried lumber is 6 to 8 percent, compared to 15 to 20 percent for lumber that has not been so treated. Ipe has also become a very popular wood because it is one of a very few that can last as long as the building in which it has been installed3; and it is ideal as well for rooms that are heavily travelled. A kiln- dried floor, like any floor, can be expected to last a long time provided that it is treated well. Those who handle the flooring professionally should store it in an area that has plenty of ventilation and is also sealed from the weather. It should not be exposed to rain or moisture, and if transported in such weather it should be well protected. Kiln- dried flooring is among the best for almost any kind of building, public or private.
